Privacy
Short version: we collect as little as we can, and we never store IP addresses.
Free QR codes
Static QR codes are made entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to us.
Your account
If you sign in to create dynamic codes, we store your email address, the codes you create (name, destination, style) and your plan. If you add a name, profile photo or password in your account settings, we store those too (passwords are kept only as a secure hash). You can delete your account and everything in it from the same page. We use a cookie only to keep you signed in.
Scans of dynamic codes
When someone scans a dynamic code, we record the time and the following details, so the owner of the code can see how it performs:
- Approximate location: country, region and city, taken from the visitor's network. It is not exact and not a street address.
- Device type, operating system and browser.
- The website the visitor came from, if any (the host name only).
- A one-way, daily-changing code used to count unique visitors and repeat scans. It cannot be turned back into an IP address.
We do not store IP addresses, and we do not set cookies for visitors who scan a code. The owner of a code sees these statistics, but never who a visitor is. Signed-in owners get a small cookie that remembers their time zone for the statistics page.
Website analytics
To understand how people use the site, we use Google Analytics on our public pages (the home page, generator pages and pricing), and Vercel Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies and sees pages visited, the approximate country and the type of device, and Google may process this data outside your country. We turn off advertising features and never connect it to your account. We do not measure the dashboard, account or sign-in pages, or the pages people reach by scanning a code. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we ask before using Google Analytics cookies, and you can decline. You can also block them in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on.
Deleting your data
Deleting a code removes it and all its scan history. To delete your account and everything in it, or to ask what we hold about you, email support@qrgeny.com. We reply within a few days.
Third parties
We use Supabase to store account and scan data, Vercel to host the site, and Google for website analytics. Both process data on our behalf. Payments are handled by Polar, who sell the subscription to you as our reseller; we never see your card details.
