How to make it
- Choose WiFi above, then type your network name exactly as it appears on your router, including capital letters.
- Enter the password and pick the security type. WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 covers almost every home and office router. If your network has no password, choose None.
- Tick Hidden network only if your WiFi name is not shown in the list of networks.
- Pick a style, check that the scan test passes, then download SVG for print or PNG for a screen. Test it with a phone before you print.
Tips
- Anyone who can see the code can join your network. Put it where you are happy for people to connect, and use a guest network for visitors.
- If you change the password, the printed code stops working and must be made again. A WiFi code is always static.
- Print it at least 3 cm wide, with a dark code on a light background, and leave a clear margin around it.
- Café or hotel? Add a frame with the text "JOIN WIFI" so people know what the code is for.
Questions
How do I scan a WiFi QR code?
Open the camera app on your phone and point it at the code. Recent iPhones and Android phones show a prompt to join the network. Older Android phones may need Google Lens or a scanner app.
Is it safe to put my WiFi password in a QR code?
The password is stored inside the code itself, so anyone who scans it can read it. That is fine for a guest network. Do not use it for a network that protects sensitive devices.
Does the code stop working if I change my password?
Yes. WiFi codes are static, so they hold the details you typed. Create a new one after changing the password.
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no watermark and no expiry.
